Located in the heart of one of the most famous wine regions in the world, Guillaume Blanc is a stunning estate set in over three acres of tranquil parkland on the edge of a small village where the borders of the Dordogne, Gironde, and Lot et Garonne departments meet. Within the grounds is Maison Guillaume Blanc, a beautiful old Manor House , and three luxury holiday retreats.
The manor house bears the name of former estate owner and Consul of the bastide during the 16th century, ‘Guillaume Blanc’, and is now home to British owners Sarah and Tim. A food and wine lover’s paradise, this is the ideal hub from which to explore this beautiful and fascinating region. Think Bergerac, St Emilion, Bordeaux, Sarlat, Perigueux, fields of sunflowers, the majestic Dordogne River, grand chateaux and wonderful bastide markets selling local organic produce.
If you’re looking to recharge your batteries, there can be no better place. The grounds are a haven of peace and tranquillity, with many fine specimens of trees including majestic cedars, magnolia grandiflora, a cherry orchard, as well as several varieties of fig, walnut, plum, and apple trees.
There is also a stylish south-facing heated pool with expansive sun terrace offering splendid vineyard views, and a shady pool cabana with outside dining area, summer kitchen and shower.
The area comes close to offering everything that travellers head to France for: beautiful chateaux, traditional French gastronomy, a spectacular landscape of vineyards, rivers, and forests. Visit picturesque, hill top towns perched high above the Dordogne valley such as Beynac and Domme, charming medieval bastide towns such as Bergerac, Eymet and Perigueux, and of course, any stay in this part of the world would not be complete without visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saint Emilion.
The Old Goat House, Petit Guillaume and Petit Blanc have all been lovingly transformed from the original outbuildings into top-spec renovations, combining rustic-chic style with subtly luxurious touches – a perfect home away from home.
Adopting a reclaim-recycle-reuse approach to the project, Sarah and Tim spent months combing the local flea markets and brocantes for pre-loved treasures that add warmth, character, and originality to the interiors.
Each property has a fully equipped kitchen, open plan living and dining space, double bedroom with ensuite shower room as well as its own private terrace with al fresco dining area. Guests also have access to the south-facing, heated pool and sun terrace for the use of all estate guests (maximum 8 people).
For those who are looking to relax, switch off and unwind, but who still want to stay ‘connected’ during their stay, worry not, as superfast broadband is available in all three properties as well as at the pool.
